I'm Maria Caropreso, Ettore Caropreso's granddaughter, who met Nina Moscati, the holy doctor's daughter. All my family is loyal supporter of St. Joseph Moscati who never leave us. I want to testify a great grace received by my father, Ettore's son. My father had a terrible tumor to the bladder, so surgeons told us that it was necessary for him an operation of removal. My mother and me prayed a lot to St. Joseph Moscati, but we trusted in him, because my mother dreamt of St. Joseph Moscati who reassured her, in spite of the serious conditions of my father. My mother remember that the holy doctor introduced as "Don Peppino" (His friends called him with this nickname).

Later she dreamt of John Paul II who encouraged her to continue praying. The operation was successful, we can define it a very miracle. The day of the operation my father was underwent to a topical anesthetic, so he could listen to what said surgeons during that terrible surgical intervention. He remember that surgeons when saw my father's bladder,said astonished that there wasn't trace of tumor, the bladder was very clean! After the operation a doctor confessed that the tumor was disappeared, so they didn't excise my father's bladder.

We know that also my grandfather and Nina Moscati helped us. Nina Moscati was a very important figure for my family, above all for my grandfather, he spread his devotion to every believers who met during the holy mass at Gesù Nuovo church, he consoled ills showing them St. Joseph Moscati's biography and a photo which portrayed himself when he was a teeneger, the period in which Nina Moscati helped him. We know that he was very happy when Nina Moscati's mortal remains were transfered to the Gesù Nuovo church.

I must add that the miracle was also spiritual, because my father didn't frequent the church, so now he's a fervent Christian. I try to follow in my grandfather's footsteps spreading my devotion to believers, I feel my grandfather's presence and I hope that I'll manage to complete his activity. My name is Titta Formisano, I’m writing to testify the great love of St. Joseph Moscati for my family. On 13th December while my father was taking my sister to the university, lost his sight, since he was driving a car, stopped with violence, banging his head against the windscreen. He had a sudden illness, so doctors submitted him to some medical examinations, especially a resonance which stressed a bleeding hematoma. He didn’t believe in that diagnosis, but in a tumor which we tried to hide. Some weeks later, he decided to accept the hospitalization at "Don Bosco" hospital. Before the hospitalization my father told my mother that he found the St. Joseph Moscati’s icon in his pocket. The operation occurred at St. Cyrus feast day, in the waiting room there are more than 30 our relatives.

The wait was long and terrible… when the surgeon came out from the operating room, we assembled round him to listened to what he wanted to tell us: "are you everybody here for Biagio? He’s a very special man! The operation completed successfully!". The next day he talked with us, but we observed that he can’t move his right arm and can’t swallow. So the surgeon decided to operate him again. My sisters and me prayed without stopping for just a second, they coming from Battipaglia, decided to go to Pompei.

The surgeon continued to encourage us, because the operation was successful again. But the situation made worse, and after a further operation he was rushed into the intensive care where he went into a coma. We could see him only through a monitor. My father was swollen and my mother feared caress him. In those terrible days we prayed a lot, my mother and me went to Gesù Nuovo church, so my father started to recover consciousness. At my birthday, I asked God just a present: the recovery of my father. After a long time, finally my mother told me that my father woke up, I cried for joy, I was very happy.

We said the Rosary to thank St. Joseph Moscati, his history fascinated me. Through the site of St. Joseph Moscati, I knew that his father died with a cerebral hemorrhage, his brother suffered from epileptic fits after a tumble from a horse, his sister Anna, called "Nina" helped Moscati in his charity mission. The name of the surgeon who operated my father is "Giampiero Nina". I showed to my father the St. Joseph Moscati’s icon, so he said: "I’ve already seen this man, also in the intensive care". I want to testify the greatness of St. Joseph Moscati. The Doctors diagnosed a terrible tumor to colon of my husband. After a rectal hemorrhage we take him to hospital where doctors stopped it. On that particular evening, we started to pray to St. Joseph Moscati, the holy doctor who we love a lot, the strong faith incited me to go each day to mass, receive communion and say the rosary. Moreover for the strong devotion which I feel for The Holy Doctor, I putted under my husband’s pillow the St. Joseph Moscati’s icon. The operation of removal went successful, so I continued praying for the histological exam. As a matter of fact the lymph nodes excluded probable metastasis, it was necessary just a prevention therapy and not curative. Three years ago after a scan, an aortic valve stenosis was diagnosed to my heart, I didn’t have symptoms and for this reason I didn’t believe that it was necessary for me a lifesaving operation. I sought some doctors, cardiologists and heart surgeons, but for 2 years I didn’t want to undergo myself to this dangerous operation, I didn’t talk with my family to not give to them a sorrow. So I turned to St. Joseph Moscati after sleepless nights and days full of anxiety, asking him for my recovery or the strength to face this terrible operation. I knew the surgeon who would have operated me and I thank him for his professionalism. St. Joseph Moscati always said: " The science is nothing without the faith", and I can support this, because with the divine help and the intercession of St. Joseph Moscati, I managed to undergo to the operation. The operation was successful, also the post-operative thank to the support of my family and of my trustworthy cardiologist. On the feast of the immaculate conception, I went to Gesù Nuovo church to thank personally the holy doctor, who gave me an unexpected strength and guided my surgeon’s hand in that ticklish operation, he continue helping my family each day, we always feel his presence. I want to thank God and Virgin Mary for the intercession of St. Joseph Moscati, he’s my personal doctor who helped me in the worst moment of my life. I always had sharp pains in my neck and in my shoulders, I knew that this pains were caused by the arthrosis and contractures, because I was an anxious person. One day I decided to do the blood test to control the rheumatoid factor, the results were negatives, I had a rheumatoid arthritis. I was very afraid, because I didn’t know this illness, so I sought a rheumatologist who confirmed the diagnosis without do verifications, he gave me a therapy which prevents the worsening of illness, because it’s impossible to heal from it. After a short time, I discovered through further blood tests that my treatment was bad for the health, because the triglycerides were very high and I could have an heart attack.

I prayed a lot to the Madonna, who enlightened me, so on the contrary of what said the rheumatologist (who thought it was impossible that the cure could be dangerous) , I suspended those treatments. I prayed a lot also to St. Joseph Moscati, I was hopeful, so I decided to celebrate a Mass, a short time before the feast of immaculate conception, to St. Joseph Moscati to thank him. I felt better, but after 2 months the rheumatoid factor increased above norm: for me started again the ordeal. I continued praying alone and with others. I was sure that God wanted to cure me. In the meantime the family doctor told me that it was necessary for me to go to in a specialist centre. I felt so discouraged, so I didn’t want to go there. I implored again the Madonna and God asking them for my recovery.

I prayed also with my friends who advised me to do the Novena to St. Joseph Moscati on the occasion of his feast day 9 days later. After the novena, I felt that God would have free me from each anguish. Ahead of go to the rheumatologist, famous for his skill, I prayed also with Rev. Ivan, and also this time I felt the presence of God. One day before the medical examination, I heard in my ears these words: "you don’t have any disease!" the following day (on 16^th November, the feast day of St. Joseph Moscati), after a thorough medical examination, the doctor repeated three times that phrases which I heard in my ears and which echoed in my head and in my heart: "you don’t have any disease". God listened to me, my illness disappeared. Forever grateful, I trust in the Virgin Mary and in St. Joseph Moscati, my personal doctor, so I ask you to publish this testimony to glorify The Madonna and the holy doctor. I’m writing to testify a grace received through intercession of St. Joseph Moscati. In the 2010 I was in the fifth month of pregnancy. After a medical examination were diagnosed heart and kidneys problems to my baby, for this reason doctors told me that my daughter would have been born with the down syndrome.

In a first moment I didn’t accept that prevision, so I turned to a gynecologist, who suggested me the abortion. So I went to the another hospital, turning to St. Joseph Moscati in my prayers, as suggested by my aunt. Later I went to the hospital went I had medical examination. The doctors who read my case history, with a lot of astonishment told me that my daughter didn’t have heart problems, they found only kidneys problems. So, the gynecologist told me that if my baby had urinated spontaneously after the birth, it would have been necessary an operation. At the same time I had to do an scan HD until the eighth month.

In the meantime I continued praying to St. Joseph Moscati with a strong faith, because I knew that he would have helped me. At last doctors told me it was almost impossible that she would have been born with down syndrome. A further scan 15 days later, showed a miraculous reduction of kidneys problems. In fact my baby was born without problems and it wasn’t necessary an operation although their kidneys were swollen. After a short time also this problem disappear. Rev. Jesuits, with this letter I want to testify a great grace received through intercession of St. Joseph Moscati. At the end of last November, after a resonance, a cerebral aneurysm was diagnosed to my husband. A terrible disease for which it was necessary an operation a lot of dangerous. On 13^th December he had to do an angiography to study the steps of the operation: it’s invasive and for this reason I was afraid, so I started to the novena to St. Joseph Moscati praying to him to watch over my husband. After the operation at "Torrette" hospital in Ancon, my husband had a sudden illness. He was rushed to the emergency room at the same hospital, and he was hospitalized in the department of neurosurgery for an embolus. So it was necessary a further operation which could be vain.

I prayed to St. Joseph Moscati all the night with his icon in my hands, hoping that he gave us a good surgeon. The next morning, when my husband was going to be rushed in the operating room, I met a surgeon who knew everything about the situation, I asked him what we could do to avoid the operation, so he stayed in silence for few minutes, when he stopped suddenly the operation to submit my husband to another resonance: from which the operation wasn’t necessary. You can imagine our happiness. Soon I went to the chapel at the hospital to thank the holy doctor, when I entered, on the right I saw St. Joseph Moscati’s big picture, so in my heart I said: "you are always with us!". Under the picture there was an inscription: "St. Joseph Moscati, the patron of Torrette Hospital in Ancon.". I was very happy , because he’s always with us, interceding with Jesus Christ. My wife and me went to Naples on the first days of may. We visited the beautiful Gesù Nuovo church. There we knew a deep devotion for the holy doctor, St. Joseph Moscati, we didn’t know that he was buried in that church. My wife and me didn’t manage to have a child, so we left this dream like our acquaintances who had the same problem. Together we turned to him our love and our hope, soon we felt his faith go in our souls.

In Sorrento, at santa Maria del Carmine church which we visited during the ensuing months, we found an altar dedicated to the holy doctor, so we bowed down before his image. After our return from Sorrento, we had the news of the pregnancy of my wife. We don’t know why Moscati gave us this incredible and wonderful grace, but we know that for his intercession our faith grew and with this testimony we want to thank him. I knew St. Joseph Moscati after a tourist visit in Naples at Gesù Nuovo church. In that occasion his model of life struck me so much, but I didn’t know his story before that tourist visit. I’m convinced that the holy doctor helped my daughter to pass the capacity test in the faculty of medicine. She take the first exam at "Cattolica del Sacro Cuore" university in Moscati lecture hall, after this she had to take a further exam at a university of Siena.

While my daughter was holding the exam, I went into a chapel to pray. When we knew the results of the tests, for which we were tense, we came back to Siena to thank God for helping us.On coming out of chapel my daughter saw the holy doctor’s image posted up on the entry doors, I didn’t notice it before. A short time passed after the birth of "Luigi Giuseppe". A child who I desired so much and now he fills up my heart of joy. Two years ago I went in Gesù Nuovo church by chance, I didn’t know that church because I didn’t live in neighbouring places. I felt a beautiful and strong sensation in my heart, so in the evening I talked with my husband about this experience and we decided to go to mass together in Gesù Nuovo church.

After listened to mass, our friends presented us P. Samà. He talked us about graces obtained through St. Joseph Moscati’s intercession, so from that occasion we knew the greatness of this holy doctor. I committed my prayers to St. Joseph Moscati, asking him for a grace which I desired, the motherhood. After 4 months I expected a baby.

Dear St. Joseph Moscati, we thank you for giving us the proof of your love and for saving my mother from a sudden pain on Sunday: serious thrombosis and glaucoma to the right eye were the reason for the hospitalization at a clinical ophthalmologic of Bari. My mother lost the sight to the right eye and after 2 hours of hospitalization, she fell asleep serenely, 2 hours later she woke with a start, she dreamt of St. Joseph Moscati who looked at her without talking.

My mother called him by name: "St. Joseph Moscati!", so he disappeared in a white cloud. After a short time, she were examined carefully and doctors found a clear improvement. The following day she submitted to clinical and instrumental examination and after a short time she was discharged from hospital. At 19:00 o’ clock of the same day, she could participate to the holy mass to thank the holy doctor, planed 2 months before to celebrate the golden wedding, at Santa Maria Del Carmelo church in Toritto, with the love of all the family. When I was 10, I had a serious illness to my throat, maybe a diphtheria; I had a very high temperature for a long time, in addition to this I couldn’t swallow, because I had pain, at last the situation made worse for a breathing problem.

My mother told me that she dreamt of St. Joseph Moscati who examined my throat. The following morning she decided to rush me to the hospital in spite of the fever. Doctor after the examination told that I risked to die, so they prescribed me the treatments for my illness.

Many years passed and I forgot that experience of my childhood, I lived far away from Christianity and sacraments. On September 2009, I dream of a person who telephones me for a broken pc, and I ask him his address, he answer me: "Cisterna dell’olio street, at 7 street number". I didn’t frequent "Piazza del Gesù", but always in my dream I go to that place, I knock at the door, a person looks like St. Joseph Moscati opens me.

The following day I decide to go to that address, so in that place see a big marble slab in which I read that St. Joseph Moscati lived in this apartment building, after read this I go to Gesù Nuovo church. Arrived in the chapel where there is the holy doctor’s urn, I feel a great joy and I understand that I received a grace. While I was looking at the urn, an old man approached me and told me with delicacy that he knew Moscati family when he was a child, because he lives in that street, Nina Moscati, the holy doctor’s daughter, helped him because she ascertained his poverty. That man struck me, he told me also his name, Ettore Caropreso, he’s 90.

I’m a devote of St. Joseph Moscati and I write you to testify my experience about his miracles. I often asked him for help in hard moments of my life, also when I need guidance in my profession (I’m a doctor like him). In spring time of 3 years ago a meningioma was diagnosed in my body, a cerebral benign tumor which provoked me epileptic fits for its size and for its position, during these fits I didn’t lose consciousness, but they were very bad and therapies weren’t successful. So neurosurgeons told me that it was necessary for me have an operation of removal. I was very afraid, because I’m a doctor and for this reason I know the dangers of neurosurgical operations. I suffered a lot for the epileptics fits, because I couldn’t be independent. In a night, after a further fit, I was very sad so I turned to St. Joseph Moscati to ask for help, I was in despair.

I knew about his life that he suffered when his brother died for the same pathology which affected me, but at that time it couldn’t be operate, so for this reason I was sure that the holy doctor could support me. After a short time he appeared smiling at me in my room, I knew that he wanted to encourage me. I was conscious and I remember perfectly his image: He didn’t wear its usual white coat, he was wearing a brown jacket and a white dress shirt with a tie. After a month I was operated and the operation was successful. The happiness which he conveyed in me was the miracle most important and significant, I always feel his presence with me. This spiritual force followed me in hard periods after my operation without leaving me.

I know that the holy doctor is always with me, he’s very special, he listened to my prayers helping me to exceed my impossible problems, also some of my loves ones. L. V.

My name is Daniela Raia, I’m 30 years old and I want to tell you the story of my life. On the 25th July I was hospitalized for an aggressive melanoma to my right leg, so it was necessary for me to analyze the sentinel node next to ill part, to individualize possible metastasis. In a night I was with my sister in my room when, at one point, at half past one, I was seized by panic, so we decided to leave my room, the corridor was empty and there was dim lighting.

At one point, I saw the holy doctor’s image in the balcony at the end of the corridor, he wore its usual white coat, he looked at me, so I said: "Rosanna, look at that doctor, he doesn’t manage to sleep like me". My sister answered me: "where do you see him?". I said: "at the end of the corridor there’s St. Joseph Moscati". My sister didn’t see the holy doctor and told me: "you are very tired, you have to sleep".

I came back to my room and I took Moscati’s image, so I started to read his story… It was his birthday, he came to see me to save me from that bad situation.

From that moment I’ve never stopped believing in him. I begged him to give me the possibility of staying with my child who’s one year. Today, after one year, I knew that I’m healed, the histological examination excludes the presence of metastasis in my body. Today I must tell him: "thank you for helping me. I have a new life and I can live happily with my daughter. I love you so much. I wanted to testify the holy doctor’s grace which I received to share my tale with needy people, I hope that they trust in him with sincere faith without despair. I want to share with you the tale of my grace, which I received through intercession of St. Joseph Moscati, he cured my son after a calvary of 4 years. On November 2007 a fistula to coccyx (with emission of infected antiserum) was diagnosed in the body of Francesco, so we booked the operation which held on 8th March 2008 at "Fatebenefratelli" hospital in Naples. During the operation surgeons found two fistulous canals.

After the convalescence, with some dressings, we thought that the problem was solved. 20 days later, the infected antiserum continued to sprout out, so his surgeon decided to continue to medicate the infected part and on 21st June it was necessary for him a further operation. The result was positive again, but this time his wound didn’t heal up. So it was necessary to start again a lot of painful dressings without improvement, on the contrary infected antiserum continued to spurted out more bad-smelling.

Surgeons decided to operate him for the third time again, the operation was held on 28th December 2008. This time the doctor who operated on my son encouraged us, but it was only another illusion. On 15th February my son’s wound reopened, so we started again a lot of dressings, but this time the surgeon didn’t want to operate him again.

My son, was tired and discouraged, refused to face another operation, so I became his nurse, I medicated the infected part every day until June 2011. In these years I turned to many doctors, even an homeopathy, without positive result. My prayer was always constant, believing that God would have intervened sooner or later.I prayed to all Saints in heaven for an intercession. One day, my sister gave me the Gesù Nuovo bimonthly in which I read St. Joseph Moscati’s graces. Who could help me better than him? Not only he was neapolitan, also he was the holy doctor. So I started to invoke his intercession, hoping to obtain his grace or a doctor who would have cured in a better way my son.

On 29th June 2011, at Pietro and Paolo’s feast day, Italian Holy day, I went to Gesù Nuovo to participate to the Eucharistic Celebration held by P.Piero De Micheli in the infirmary on the fourth floor of the church. When I went into the infirmary, I saw St. Joseph Moscati’s image, so I spoke neapolitan dialect such as I was talking with St. Joseph Moscati in the flesh: "can you help us, please?". I participated to the Holy communion with great emotion.

In the evening, as usual, I had to medicate my son’s wound, but the little hole, from which spurted out infected antiserum, seemed cicatrized, so it wasn’t necessary for him to do other dressings. Finally 4 years later my son could go to the sea again, because his wound didn’t allow it.

I desire to prove my tale of grace received by God, through the intercession of St. Joseph Moscati. When I was born I was hospitalized in the intensive care at "Cardarelli" hospital in Naples, for an acute bronchiolitis. The permanence in the intensive care lasted many days, because there were complications. My family and her friends prayed a lot for my healing. My mother turned to St. Joseph Moscati asking him to cure me. He listened to the prayers of my mother and I healed, so on 14^th April 1990 I could go back home definitively.

Many years later, I never gave the right importance to the grace received. So after a long period of time I started to go near spiritually to God, until one Sunday morning, when I was listening to Mass the desire to know the holy doctor who interceded for my healing was born in me. In 2009 I knew a medical fraternity in Italian called "associazione volontari ospedalieri (AVO)" so I had the opportunity to work for this medical fraternity making a series of movies. During this work, I could look at a Saint’s image which intrigued me. With a great wonder, I knew of his identity, my mother told me that it was St. Joseph Moscati’s image, the holy doctor who saved me when I was born. Later I went to Gesù Nuovo church where there are his mortal remains, photos, testimonies of people who received graces or testimonies of people who worked with him. His life, his love for God fascinate me, but above all, his way to see in patients the suffering Christ who he loved and served in them.

"Sick people are Christ’s figures", "immortal and divine souls, and for this reason we must love them such as we love ourselves, putting in practice the evangelical precept which puts down in writing this" (phrases written by St. Joseph Moscati). I know that he assisted people during the eruption of Vesuvius in 1906, also during the cholera period in 1911 and in the first world war, these tales fascinate me so much.

St. Joseph Moscati is a lay man who conciliated science and faith, he loved God and the Virgin Mary uninterruptedly, he had a great sense of duty, as a matter of fact he lived his life like a mission. The knowledge of this holy doctor is a great emotion for me, not only because he saved me, also because he was an exemplary man.

Today thousands of believers and sick people trust in him, each day of the year they crowd Gesù Nuovo church, praying with great devotion in front of his tomb. When I look at his usual white coat and I read the tales of his miracles which fill the walls of Moscati’s rooms in Gesù Nuovo church, I think: "maybe he doesn’t remember me, I was a child", but I feel his presence in my life and I know that he appreciates my strong faith, many anecdotes happened which demonstrated me that he’s always with me, one day I saw his picture in a camion before an important examination which I had to take, and a lot of times I ran into rooms and chapels devoted to him in different places.

The most important testimony was when I dreamt of him. The dream started when I meet him in Moscati’s rooms: he greet me gracefully with a lovely, sweet and deep look. He tells me: "how are you?". I answerd him: "fine!". So he hugged me, conveying me sentiments of love and serenity. Before I join him, I run through a white and long corridor full of light, where there are many rooms like in a ward: in a one of those rooms there is a woman who drinks water. The symbol of AVO (medical fraternity) is the water! As a matter of fact, the history of AVO in Italy was born when a moan coming from a bed of a warm, draws attention to the doctor who was running through a department in that moment. So, in my heart, I knew that I had to become a member of this medical fraternity and today thank to St. Joseph Moscati I’m a orderly.

In my first day of voluntary work I felt a great emotion. Doctors allocated me cardiology department, there I saw the holy doctor’s picture posted up on the wall and it gave me a great fortitude. I promise that I’ll assist needy people hoping to manage in this hard but satisfying mission, I thank him for giving me joy and happiness, but also for changing my heart, my character and my attitudes.

Above all he gave me a spiritual guidance which always protects me. My devotion grows more and more each day, when I can I go to Gesù Nuovo church to pray to him with immense joy. Angela Piccolo, voluntary AVO (Napoli).
